HoldFast is built to support you in your hardest moments. Your privacy matters to us as much as the tools themselves.
The short version: HoldFast stores your data on your device. We do not collect, sell, or share your personal information. We do not track you. We do not use advertising identifiers. There are no third-party analytics.

1. Who We Are
HoldFast (“the App,” “we,” “us,” “our”) is operated by Tom O’Connor / Nature’s Grace LLC, based in Nevada, United States.

2. What Information We Handle
2.1 Information You Create in the App
When you use HoldFast, you may voluntarily create the following data on your device:
- Stress check-ins — a 1–5 numeric scale, an optional note, and a timestamp
- Custom emergency contacts — names, phone numbers, and relationship labels
- Color palettes — color values you choose and an optional palette name
- Safety Ping configuration — a trusted contact’s name and phone number, plus your check-in interval
This information is stored locally on your device. It is not transmitted to our servers or any third party, except as described in Section 3 below.
2.2 Information We Do NOT Collect
HoldFast does not collect, request, or have access to:
- Your name, email address, or any account credentials
- Your location (precise or approximate)
- Your phone number
- Your contacts list (you manually enter emergency contacts)
- Your device identifiers (IDFA, advertising ID, etc.)
- Your usage analytics, screen views, or session data
- Your health data, biometrics, or wearable data
- Any data from other apps on your device
We do not require you to create an account, log in, or sign up.
3. How Your Information Is Used
3.1 On Your Device
All information you enter into HoldFast is stored locally and used only to provide the app’s features (showing your check-in history, displaying your contacts, applying your saved palettes, etc.).
3.2 Anonymous Palette Sharing
If you choose to mark a color palette as “shared,” only the color values and the palette name (if you provided one) are uploaded to our community gallery. No personally identifying information is attached. No username, no device ID, no timestamp visible to others. Shared palettes are anonymous and cannot be traced back to you.
You can unshare a palette at any time, which removes it from the community gallery on a best-effort basis.
3.3 Native iOS Communications
When you tap a “Call” or “Text” button in HoldFast, the app uses standard iOS URL schemes (tel: and sms:) to open your phone’s Phone or Messages app with the recipient pre-filled. HoldFast does not place calls or send messages itself. The communication happens through your phone’s native services and your carrier — we have no visibility into whether you make the call or what you say.
3.4 Safety Ping Notifications (Future)
In a future update, the Safety Ping feature may send an SMS to your designated trusted contact if you do not check in within your set window. If and when this feature is enabled:
- The SMS will be sent from your device or from a privacy-respecting SMS service
- Only the contact name and phone number you provided will be used
- The SMS content will be a simple, generic message
- No additional personal information will be transmitted
The current version is a prototype and does not actually send these messages.
4. Third Parties
HoldFast does not integrate with third-party advertising networks, analytics platforms, or tracking services.
The following standard iOS system services may be involved when you use HoldFast:
- Apple iOS — for app distribution and standard app lifecycle. Apple’s privacy policy applies: apple.com/legal/privacy
- Your phone carrier — when you initiate a call or text via native iOS
- Crisis hotlines (988, 741741) — only if you choose to contact them
We do not share, sell, rent, or trade any user information with third parties for any purpose.
5. Children’s Privacy
HoldFast is rated 4+ on the App Store and contains references to mental health crises. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone.
If a parent or guardian believes their child has provided information of concern, please contact us at tom@oconnorlv.com and we will respond promptly.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
Because your data is stored on your device:
- Deleting the app removes all your data. There is no separate “delete my account” process.
- You can delete individual items (check-ins, contacts, palettes) within the app at any time.
- Shared community palettes persist on our server unless you unshare them or contact us to request removal.
7. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have specific rights regarding your personal information under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and similar regulations.
Because HoldFast does not collect personal information from you, most of these rights are inherently satisfied. However, you always have the right to:
- Access any data the app holds about you (it’s all viewable in the app itself)
- Delete your data (by deleting items in the app or uninstalling)
- Opt out of any data sharing (don’t enable palette sharing)

8. Security
Data stored locally on your device is protected by your device’s standard iOS security features (passcode, Face ID, Touch ID, full-disk encryption). HoldFast does not implement its own user authentication because no remote account exists.
For shared palettes, we use HTTPS for all communications between your device and our server.

9. Important Medical Disclaimer
HoldFast is a support tool, not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any condition. The app is not a substitute for professional medical advice, therapy, or emergency services.
In a medical emergency or mental health crisis, call 911 or 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline). Do not rely on HoldFast as your only resource.
By using HoldFast, you acknowledge that the app’s features (breathing exercises, grounding techniques, check-ins, safety ping) are wellness tools, not clinical interventions.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will:
- Update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this document
- Post the new version on this page
- Note the change in the app’s “What’s New” section if material
Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
